I’m really quite proud to see how my photos did in the Shoot & Share photo contest.
Having this beautiful (and very special) maternity photo place 38th out of over 12,000 amazing images left me speechless. Also, with 5 images voted as finalists in their respective categories, 5 top 10%, 9 top 20%, and 4 top 30% I feel pretty blown away.
I didn’t create any photos “for the contest” – I only entered photos that I had either been commissioned to create or I created on my own. I liked the idea of this, as I was able to see how my portraits and work fair amongst other creatives. What an honor to be considered amongst some amazing talent!
I’ve thought about creating one or two specific images to enter and I think I’ll do that this year for the next contest.
In my previous career in sports operations and entertainment, I never put my work out to be “judged” for anything, so this is all still really new to me (and truly scary lol), but I’m finding that it pushes me as a creator, to which I’m grateful for.
